16th December 1971 - A historic moment as Pakistani General ‘Tiger’ Niazi signs a surrender document in the presence of leading Indian officers, after ripping off his epaulette from his right shoulder, unloading his revolver and handing the firearm to victor Lt Gen Jagjit Singh Aurora. This signified the end of a two-week war between India and Pakistan and the birth a new nation – Bangladesh. India lost three thousand soldiers in the painful birth of the new nation. Salutations to them!
